Rescheduled Weekly Wrap-Up

Well, here is my weekly wrap-up, much abbreviated and one day late. I’ve been out of commission since mid-morning on Sunday with stomach issues. It’s been pretty miserable. But, after being able to stomach about half of my breakfast and a nice long shower, I’m feeling like I’m ready to return to the land of the living.
I guess the good part is that I made it through my Sunday morning workout before I got sick. I knew the whole time I didn’t feel right and my pace was even slower than my normal tortoise pace, but I made it through.
Here is how my workouts for the week went:
Monday – 3 mile run
Tuesday – 10 minutes cardio, 25 minutes strength
Wednesday – 3.5 mile run
Thursday – 10 minutes cardio, 25 minutes strength, 2 walks of 1.15 miles
Friday – 30 minute run
Saturday – 2.25 mile walk, 1.5 mile “hike” at a two-year-old’s pace
Sunday – 5 mile run
We did manage to squeeze in a hike on Saturday morning after breakfast. It was pretty cool to take Penelope on one of our favorite running trails. The full length of Owl’s Roost Trail is 4.3 miles and Penelope made it through about 3/4 of a mile before she requested to ride on shoulders for a bit. She enjoyed the walk along the water and took one minor tumble on a downhill covered with rocks and roots but recovered quickly. After we came off the trail, we spent a few minutes out on the dock overlooking Lake Brandt before we headed back out to the car. Even though the hike wasn’t much of a workout for Nathan and I it was one of my highlights of the week!
Ugh. Stomach bugs are the worst! I hope you are feeling better. The hike with your daughter sounds delightful. I suspect she’ll soon become quite the adventurer and you’ll have problems keeping up with her! Thanks for linking!
That’s our hope! Patience now so we can build to some great adventures later!
Getting the run in before getting sick is a win in my book! LOL. Glad it was a short illness and that you are feeling better. I hate having stomach illnesses!
I still haven’t managed to get in a run this week, but I’ve been a little extra cautious after a Wednesday walk that ended badly. I’m going to try walking again tomorrow and if that goes well, I’ll try my Sunday run.
