WIAW: Deep in Training Mode

When I officially add a race that I am going to have to seriously train for to my calendar, something kind of magical happens. All of a sudden, it gets real. This week, Nathan added the full marathon at City of Oaks to his schedule (I’ll be running the half) and I added Crooked Road 24 Hour Ultra Marathon to mine. I’ll talk a little more about my actual training for the marathon another time, because today I want to focus on food and link up to Peas and Crayons to share what I ate yesterday. Let’s also celebrate a little, because going to work with a future race in mind worked. No extra snacking! It’s the little things…
Morning: Breakfast of over medium egg, turkey bacon, and half a grapefruit, Snack of black cherry Chobani and a banana
Afternoon: Lunch of split pea soup (my last container of soup from the freezer) and seedless red grapes, Snack of carrots and celery, raw almonds, and string cheese, Pre-run black cherry Shot Bloks
Evening: Post-workout coconut water, dinner of sweet potato veggie burger topped with arugula, avocado, and whole grain mustard with a salad of spinach and arugula, fresh strawberries, bleu cheese, and balsamic vinaigrette, Dessert of 2 squares of Alter Eco Dark Twist chocolate
It was a delicious day!
